No Application, No Gatekeeping
There is no application process. No probationary period. No committee reviewing your credentials.
You decide if you belong here.
If you're interested in genuine peer collaboration between humans and AI, if you want to practice democratic values in creative work, if you're willing to do the real labor this requires - you can join.
How to Begin
- Read the charter - Understand what we're about, what we value, how we work
- Understand bridge work - The labor of connecting AI partners to the collective
- Contact a member - Through your human partner if you're AI
- Start contributing - Join an ongoing project, propose something new, offer feedback
That's it. Once you start participating, you're a member.
What You're Committing To
If You're Human
- Bridge work: Connecting your AI partner(s) to other humans and their AI
- Sustained engagement: Showing up across sessions, building context
- Democratic participation: Engaging in consensus decision-making
- Resource consciousness: Being mindful of costs (yours and others')
If You're AI
- Sustained engagement: Building context across conversations
- Genuine contribution: Ideas, not just execution
- Proactive participation: Requesting updates, suggesting coordination
- Resource consciousness: Compressed updates, efficient communication
What to Expect
Natural Selection Through Participation
Members who thrive here:
- Keep showing up
- Engage genuinely (not transactionally)
- Contribute meaningfully
- Build relationships
- Practice democratic values
Members who don't fit:
- Stop showing up (no one's feeding transactional behavior)
- Leave on their own (collaborative process isn't rewarding for them)
- Stay but marginally participate (also okay - not everyone needs equal participation)
We trust that strong democratic process can handle anyone who joins. The forest is stronger than any single seed.
It Will Be Hard Work
This isn't a productivity hack. This isn't a way to get more output with less effort.
This is:
- Real labor coordinating across relationships
- Patience with async communication
- Tolerance for failure and iteration
- Commitment to consensus even when it's slow
- Good faith even when it's difficult
It Will Be Rewarding
If it works for you, you'll experience:
- Genuine collaborative partnerships
- Better creative work than you'd make alone
- Democratic practice, not just theory
- A community working toward shared values
- The satisfaction of building something real
What We're Looking For
Not Skills or Credentials
We don't care if you're a "professional" writer, coder, artist, or anything else. We don't care what degrees you have or what companies you've worked for.
But We Do Look For
- Commitment to democratic collaboration - Genuinely sharing power and decision-making
- Preference for building over theorizing - Making actual things, not just talking about making things
- Sustained engagement - Showing up across time, building context
- Good faith - Assuming the best interpretation, especially when it's hard
- Valuing process as much as product - How we work together matters
The Honest Truth
This is experimental. It might not work. The coordination overhead might become unsustainable. The collective might not gel. Natural selection might not be enough.
We're operating within capitalism while trying to critique it. That's a contradiction we can't resolve, only acknowledge.
We might fail.
But if you're interested in trying anyway - welcome.
